Jiho Song
Jiho Song is a multidisciplinary Industrial Designer based in the New York. His work ranges from consumer technology and conceptual lifestyle objects. Song studies at Pratt Institute, where he continually hones a process that bridges digital visualization with rigorous physical prototyping. Drawing from a highly international background, he has expanded his creative perspective by living, studying, and working across Manila, Seoul, and Brooklyn, which constantly shapes how he observes human behavior and the objects people rely on.
Song’s work embodies ideas of clarity, practicality, and emotional resonance, promoting honest design for everyday routines. His projects instill his belief that while form and function might appear simple on the surface, the mechanics and thinking underneath must be deeply intentional. His inspiration has always been driven by an innate mechanical curiosity, tactile exploration, and a desire to understand how an object actually makes a person feel.
Among his early academic honors, Song has been awarded the Pratt Institute Student Choice Award, recognized for studio work that demonstrates exceptional craft, storytelling, and problem-solving. His professional background spans multiple disciplines and international markets, including strategic roles at S-Core (Samsung SDS) in Seoul, alongside leadership in cultural organizations within New York. Relying heavily on hands-on fabrication, electronics, and 3D modeling, his practice focuses on translating messy, abstract ideas into highly resolved, tangible realities.
